Saudi Arabia Hosts Meeting of Islamic Forum for Halal Accreditation Bodies (IFHAB)

    Makkah, December 12, 2025, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Accreditation Center, yesterday hosted in Makkah the third annual meeting of the General Assembly of the Islamic Forum for Halal Accreditation Bodies (IFHAB), with the participation of national accreditation bodies from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
   The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy Koutoub Mustapha Sano.
   The meeting marked the signing of a cooperation memorandum between IFHAB and SMIIC to unify efforts in halal accreditation, strengthen mutual recognition, support technical capacity building, and develop joint standards and policies that enhance the halal ecosystem across member states.
   The agenda also included presentations from specialized committees, discussions on the forum’s future development plans, and the adoption of several recommendations to strengthen technical cooperation and improve accreditation practices across member countries.
   Hosting the meeting in Makkah reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to its leading role in advancing halal quality globally, providing a platform that brings together member states to enhance economic and trade integration and unify efforts to advance the global halal sector.
