Second Congress of WPK Recorded in History of Korean Revolution
Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- The Second Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held from March 27 to 30, 1948.
In his report on the work of the Party Central Committee at the congress, President Kim Il Sung reviewed the overall work of the Party since its founding and set forth the tasks for consolidating the democratic base of the country and further strengthening the Party.
He stressed that the Party organizations should find themselves at worksites to strengthen the Party's guidance over economic construction. He also clarified the issue of establishing a strict order and discipline at factories and enterprises and building up a new people-oriented enterprise management system and the issue of improving the level of Party cell work to make all cells lively organizations. All his teachings served as the immortal guidelines that put the Korean revolution on a new high stage.
The historic Second Congress of the Party indicated the way for successfully carrying out the tasks in the first period of the transition to socialism by dynamically accelerating the revolution and construction in the country and marked an important occasion in strengthening the unity and cohesion of the Party and ensuring the Party's leadership over the revolution and construction. -0-
