Yemen sentences child snatchers to 20 years

SANA'A, July 21 (Saba) - A Yemeni Court
on Tuesday sentenced the abductors of child Ali Mohammed al-Udaini, 8, late last
year to
20 years in prison each.

The snatchers, from the notorious Bany Dhabyan tribe outside Sana'a, were Zibn
Allah Mohammed Amir al-Sharami, Moqbil Ahmed Majooh al-Sharami, Ali Mohammed Saleh
al-Sharami
and Mohammed Mabkhoot al-Sharami.
The Primary Penal Court also ruled to fine three of the convicts, the second, third
and fourth, who are still at large, YER 100.000 in lawyer expenses.
The sentenced abducted in December 2008 the child from a school in Yemen's capital,
Sana'a, and took him to their tribe.
The abducted child was released after months through a tribal mediation.
