Manchester United edge FC Seoul 3-2 in friendly
SEOUL, July 24 (Yonhap) -- Manchester United edged FC Seoul 3-2 in a friendly
match held at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Friday in their second win over South
Korea since the two teams last met in 2007.
Although FC Seoul's striker Dejan Damajanovic scored two goals in the first half,
the English champions took their first lead in 76th minute with a header by
Dimitar Berbatov.
The K-League leader failed to avenge their 4-0 loss to the Premier League champ
in their last match, held in 2007.
South Korean Park Ji-sung appeared on the pitch in the 76th minute to the
enthusiastic cheers of over 65,000 Korean fans in his first football performance
in his homeland as a Red Devil. He missed Manchester United's 2007 Asian tour due
to an injury.
Manchester United visited Seoul on Wednesday on the second leg of their
pre-season Asian trip, defeating the Malaysian team 3-2 and 2-0.
They will wrap up the tour after taking on Hangzhou Greentown in China on July 26.
