KKR completes buying Oriental Brewery

SEOUL, July 25 (Yonhap) -- Oriental Brewery said Saturday Anheuser-Busch InBev NV
has completed selling its stake in the No. 2 beer maker in South Korea to
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts Co. (KKR) for US$1.8 billion.

AB InBev, the world's largest brewer, had put Oriental Brewery up for sale to pay
down its debts. In May, KKR agreed to buy the South Korean beer maker from AB
InBev, based in Belgium.
Affinity Equity Partners Ltd., a Hong Kong-based buyout company, reportedly
purchased half of Oriental Brewery from KKR.
Last year, Oriental Brewery posted a net profit of 114.1 billion ($91.3 million)
won on sales of 765 billion won.
