AZERBAIJAN CONSTITUTIONAL COURT`S CHAIRMAN ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN MOLDOVA
Baku, July 27 (AzerTAc). Chairman of Azerbaijan Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev attended an international conference in Moldova to mark the 15th anniversary of this country`s Constitution.
The conference started with opening remarks of Moldova President Vladimir Voronin. Participants heard presentations on the role of the constitutional justice in developing the contemporary society, review of individual applications by constitutional courts and other issues.
During the event, Farhad Abdullayev made a report on protection of constitutional rights and freedoms through filing individual complaints with the Azerbaijan`s Constitutional Court.
Following the event, President Voronin received the event participants.
The President hailed the Azerbaijan-Moldova relationship including bilateral judicial cooperation.
Farhad Abdullayev also met with chairman and judges of Moldova`s Constitutional Court to exchange views on the judicial experience.
The sides expressed willingness to sign a protocol and memorandum on legal cooperation next year between Constitutional courts of Azerbaijan and Moldova.
Farhad Abdullayev also met with chairmen of Constitutional courts of Germany, Russia, Romania, Ukraine and other countries to discuss legal cooperation.
