LS Cable releases its first LED lamp
SEOUL, July 28 (Yonhap) -- LS Cable Ltd., South Korea's biggest electric wire and
cable maker, said Tuesday it launched its first light-emitting diode (LED)
lighting product.
The company said that it released LED desk lamps in retail stores and will
continue to sell various kinds of LED lights both for home and commercial use,
including display boards and street lights.
LEDs are known to have many advantages over traditional light sources, including
low energy consumption, longer lifetime and smaller size.
LED lights consume one-eighth as much energy as incandescent electric light bulbs
and half as much as fluorescent bulbs. They can last for 50,000 hours, meaning
that if used seven hours daily, they would not need to be changed for 20 years,
LS Cable said.
