Doosan Infracore Q2 net rises 6.3 pct on increased overseas sales

SEOUL, July 29 (Yonhap) -- Doosan Infracore Co., South Korea's largest
construction equipment maker, said Wednesday that its second-quarter earnings
increased 6.3 percent from a year earlier due to rising overseas sales.

Net profit reached 70 billion won (US$56 million) in the April-June period,
compared with a profit of 66 billion won a year earlier, the company said in a
regulatory filing.
Sales, however, dropped 38 percent to 626 billion won over the cited period, and
operating income plunged 76 percent to 37 billion won.
Shares of Doosan Infracore were trading at 15,950 won on the Seoul bourse as of
1:24 p.m., down 1.85 percent.
