A R Rahman son sings for Hollywood movie



London, July 30 (PTI) Stepping into his father's
shoes, Oscar-winning Indian musician A R Rahman's six-year-old
son Alim has turned playback singer for a Hollywood movie.
Alim, who aspires to become a playback singer when he
grows up, has sung a complete song in upcoming romantic comedy
"Couples Retreat".

Rahman, the first Indian to win two Academy awards for
his music in "Slumdog Millionaire, has given the music in
"Couples Retreat", which is being directed by Peter Billingsly
of "Sacred Fire" fame.

The comedy film is Rahman's first international
project since his win at the Academy awards in February this
year.

The movie, which is slated to release on October 9
this year, revolves around four couples, who go to a tropical
island for vacation.

Shot in Tahiti and US, the film star Hollywood A
listers like Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Kristin Davis, Malin
Akerman and Kristen Bell. PTI HSR
