Actress Sienna Miller likely to enter business deal with LG

SEOUL, July 31 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics Inc., the world's No. 3 mobile phone
maker, said Friday it is moving to establish a business relationship with
Hollywood actress Sienna Miller in connection with the company's latest phone
soon to hit the market.

One of Hollywood's leading fashion icons and a designer herself, Miller came to
South Korea on Tuesday to promote her new film "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra." LG
Electronics said she had met company phone designers on Wednesday, hours before
leaving Seoul.
"It is true that LG is seeking a business relationship with Miller, but we can
not provide details," said an LG official, who asked to remain anonymous. "It is
related to a new product soon to be launched."
Industry insiders believe the product in question is LG's "New Chocolate" model,
its newest premium phone scheduled to go on sale in September.
LG Electronics said Thursday it will launch a new version of the original
"Chocolate" phone, which the company says sparked a worldwide sensation in the
mobile handset market when it was released in December 2005.
The phone has became a smash hit in world markets with about 21 million units
sold globally so far.
LG Electronics overtook Motorola Inc. to become the world's third-largest seller
of mobile handsets in the second quarter of this year. Nokia Corp. of Finland is
the No. 1 maker, trailed by South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co.
