Doosan Heavy wins order for S. Korean power plants
SEOUL, July 31 (Yonhap) -- Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., South
Korea's leading power equipment maker, said Friday it has won a 1.38-trillion won
(US$1.12 billion) deal to provide reactors for two domestic nuclear power plants.
The deal with the state-run Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. calls on Doosan Heavy
to provide the reactors by July 2016, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Shares of Doosan Heavy closed at 70,100 won on the Seoul bourse, up 3.85 percent.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power is one of the state-run Korea Electric Power Corp.'s
six power-generation units.
The two nuclear plants will be built in the southwestern city of Uljin.
