Seoul shares up 0.41 pct in late morning


SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.41 percent higher late
Monday morning as foreign investors continued their buying of large-cap shares,
analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 6.41 points to
1,563.70 as of 11:20 a.m.
Most financial shares gained ground with KB Financial Group, the parent company
of top lender Kookmin Bank, advancing 0.94 percent. Leading automaker Hyundai
Motor Co. leaped 3.29 percent on expectations that its global market share will
continue to grow.
The local currency was trading at 1,221.55 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., up 6.95 won from Friday's close.
