Ssangyong Motor's auto sales plunge 98.4 pct in July

SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- Ssangyong Motor Co. said Monday its auto sales plunged
98.4 percent last month, hit by a months-long strike by its fired workers.

Ssangyong, South Korea's smallest carmaker, has been under bankruptcy protection
since February. It sold a mere 71 units last month, the company said in a
statement.
Hundreds of fired workers have occupied part of the company's sole assembly plant
since May 22 to protest the layoffs.
