Archaeological site dated back to BC unearthed in Yemen

DALEI, Aug. 03 (Saba) -
Citizens of al-Husha district in Dalei province unearthed on Monday an
archaeological site
in al-Sahbeen village relating to al-Hemiari age.
Local sources told the opposition Islah party-run website alsahwa-yemen.net that a
group of people from the village was digging randomly in an archaeological of
al-Hemiari
Kingdom dating back to the fifth century BC.
Archaeological pieces including heads and statues for human and animal as Gazelles
were found out in the site, according to the sources.
The security department in the governorate, after being reported, has taken the
necessary procedures and cordoned the site.
Initial information showed that the citizens' random digging has been stopped in
the area until the archaeological experts arrive there.
The sources said that the man, who found out the site, has handed over the
antiquity willingly to the security authorities in the governorate.
