Seoul shares trade 0.02 pct higher in late morning
SEOUL, Aug. 7 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.02 percent higher late
Friday morning as foreign investors continued their recent buying streak,
analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 0.31 points to
1,565.35 as of 11:20 a.m.
Foreign investors, who have been in a buying mode for an 18th consecutive
session, snapped up local shares worth 83 billion won (US$67.6 million).
Most financial shares gained ground with KB Financial Group, the parent company
of top lender Kookmin Bank, advancing 1.27 percent.
The local currency was trading at 1,227.35 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., down 4.85 won from Thursday's close, as offshore investors dumped the local
currency.
