SANA'A,
Aug. 10 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Monday a phone call from
director
of Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI Director Robert Mueller who informed
president Saleh that United States responded to president's efforts to release
Sheikh Mohammed
al-Moayad and his assistant Mohammed Zayed.
He appreciated concern of president Saleh toward this case, saying that this
concern was a key reason to set the two men free.
For his part, president Saleh expressed thank-you for the US government and the FBI
for the cooperation and response to his efforts which resulted in releasing the two
Yemenis.
Official spokesman for Yemen's embassy in Washington Mohammed al-Basha announced on
Sunday that Sheikh Mohammed Ali al-Moayad, 60, and his companion Mohammed Zayed,
35,
are to arrive in Yemen on Tuesday. The American judiciary authorities decided last
Friday to release Al-Moayad and Zayed after striking a deal, under which the two men
confess
to some charges and the court commute their sentences to five years since the date
