Gold held steady, silver recovers on scattered buying

New Delhi, Aug 11 (PTI) Gold prices on Tuesday held
steady, while silver staged marginal recovery in the bullion
market on scattered buying by retailers for the ongoing
festival season and lack of buying support.

season helped silver prices to inch up by Rs 50.

They said lack of buying support at existing higher
levels kept gold prices steady.

Standard gold and ornaments held steady at Rs 15,000 and
Rs 14,850 per ten gram respectively. Sovereign followed suit
and ruled flat at Rs 12,500 per piece of eight gram.

Silver ready recover by Rs 50 to Rs 23,100 per kg and
weekly-based delivery by Rs 205 to Rs 23,155 per kg. Its coins
continued to be asked around previous levels of Rs 29,600 for
buying and Rs 29,700 for selling of 100 pieces. PTI RS
