Halla Climate Control wins W170 bln deal from Volkswagen

SEOUL, Aug. 12 (Yonhap) -- Halla Climate Control Corp., a South Korean company
that produces auto air conditioners, said Wednesday that it has won a deal valued
at 170 billion won (US$136 million) to provide auto air conditioner parts to
Volkswagen AG.

The deal calls on Halla Climate Control to provide the parts to Europe's largest
carmaker over six years starting from 2011, the company said.
Halla Climate Control, founded in 1986, manufactures more than 3 million auto air
conditioner systems annually at three factories in South Korea and 11 overseas
plants.
Shares of Halla Climate Control were trading at 11,800 won on the Seoul bourse as
of 2:10 p.m., down 2.48 percent.
