N. Korea frees S. Korean worker after months of detention

SEOUL, Aug. 13 (Yonhap) -- North Korea released South Korea's Hyundai Asan worker
Thursday after four-and-a-half months of detention amid an ongoing visit by the
company's chairwoman in Pyongyang, a Seoul official said.
Yu Seong-jin, an engineer with Hyundai Asan Corp., the Hyundai Group's North
Korea business arm, was handed over to his firm's officials at a joint park in
the North's border town of Kaesong at 5:10 p.m., said Unification Ministry
spokesman Chun Hae-sung.
Yu had been detained since March 30 for criticizing the North's political system.
