Fables of 'Amar Chitra Katha' to debut on television



Mumbai, Aug 13 (PTI) 'Amar Chitra Katha', India's most
popular comic series depicting a treasure of Indian fables,
epic tales and mythological legends, is all set to come alive
on television soon.

Amar Chitra Katha (ACK) Media and Turner International
have entered into a content partnership to produce two
animated films and a television series comprising 26 episodes,
based on these stories.

ACK Media will produce the TV series and films in its
inimitable art-style, reinvented for the world of 2D
animation, and will be seen on television for the first time
ever on Cartoon Network and Pogo.

The films --'Tripura: The Three Cities of Maya' and
'Sons of Rama' are being developed by the Cartoon Network
animation experts.

Announcing the acquisition, Monica Tata, Vice President
Entertainment Networks, South Asia, Turner International India
Private Limited (TIIPL), said, "We are ecstatic to provide a
platform to recreate the magic of the legendary 'Amar Chitra
Katha' stories in an animated format."

"We as kids, our parents and even our grandparents
have grown up on the rich Indian culture and it will be
fabulous to see the great Indian epic come alive on our
