`High alert` to tackle likely rebel plots in capital
SANA'A, Aug 15 (Saba) - The
Interior ministry has tightened security in Yemen's capital of Sana'a amid fears of
likely
rebel attacks against military commanders and facilities.
The ministry said on its website that the security forces are monitoring the
situation around the clock and have been placed on high alert to mincemeat any
risky Houthi
assailants that could appear in Sana'a and tackle suspected situations..
The announcement comes after the army has launched offensives against the rebels in
Yemen's restive region of Saada.
Earlier the army announced conditions for a ceasefire in the area but it seem the
defiant rebels have not yet accepted the conditions, seizing 15 Red Crescent aid
workers
on Thursday.
Recent reports have noted that 172 were killed and injured in rebel attacks since a
ceasefire between the Houthi followers and government forces was announced in July
2008.
