Samsung, LG products draw praise from European editors

SEOUL, Aug. 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. and LG
Electronics Inc. said Monday that they have won a number of awards given by a
renowned European organization for their electronic products.

Samsung said of its models, two light-emitting diode (LED) TVs, a Blu-ray disc
player, a mobile phone and a camera won 2009 European Imaging and Sound
Association (EISA) Awards.
LG also took honors in the categories of LCD TVs, Blu-Ray disc players, audio
systems and mobile phones.
EISA is the largest editorial multimedia association in Europe, with a membership
of 50 special interest magazines from 19 European countries. Each June, the
editors-in-chief from all EISA member magazines meet to decide which of the
products analyzed in their publications during the past year deserve the coveted
EISA Awards.
Awards will be officially presented Sept. 4, according to the companies.
