S&P delegation to visit S. Korea next week

SEOUL, Aug. 21 (Yonhap) -- A delegation from global credit appraiser Standard &
Poor's (S&P) will visit South Korea next week to hold an annual meeting with
officials on the country's sovereign rating, the finance ministry said Friday.

The team will stay here from Tuesday to Friday to assess the direction of the
country's future economic measures, its fiscal and monetary policy and other key
economic issues including geopolitical risks, according to the ministry.
The delegation, led by Kim Eng Tan, senior analyst, and Takahira Ogawa is to hold
a series of meetings with officials from the finance ministry, the Bank of Korea
and the Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry during its stay.
The government will use the occasion to explain its future economic measures and
highlight the soundness of its fiscal status, the ministry said.
S&P has retained its sovereign rating for South Korea at "A" since July 2005.
