Mareb gas station to be launched soon

SANA'A, Aug. 23 (Saba)- Chairman of the
General Corporation for Electricity Abdul-Munim Mutahar affirmed on Sunday that
Mareb Gas Station
is ready for operation, making clear that transport lines and generation station are
ready and the first turbine will operate end of current week.

He added that a delegation of the German Siemens Company will arrive in Yemen on
Sunday to start operation process.
Mutahar pointed out that the trial operation of the station will start gradually
starting from 25 Mega to reach 100 Mega on a daily bases and that the trial
operation will
be completed beginning of September 2009.
He referred the delay of the station's operation to lack of seriousness of the
German Siemens Company and the Iranian Persian Company to send experts to supervise
the operation
process.
