FIVE STATE COMPANY SECTORS EXCEED PROJECTED RKAP
Jakarta, Aug 24 (ANTARA) - The State Enterprises Ministry said at least five business sectors in the first semester of 2009 have exceeded their projected Company Budget Work Plan (RKAP).
"In a general sense the sectors which had exceeded their RKP targets are the banking, construction, plantation, fertilizer, and transportation sector," Secretary of the State Enterprises Ministry Said Didu stated in Jakarta Sunday.
In the banking sector, performance is affected by the financial crisis which prompted the banks not to be too expansive.
"In the first quarter, the banks were rather depressed, but since the second quarter of 2009 they began to revive," he said.
Like logistic services, the global crisis affected exports and imports, although they have started to become regular.
Said added that the sectors whose performance had been short of target included state mining companies, and financial service enterprises.
And companies whose performances are neither lacking or good are pharmaceutical and logistic state enterprises.
"The performance of the telecommunications sector declined five percent, but it is still lower than the average drop of similar industries," Said added.
Said refused to specify the RKAP fulfilment rates, as well as declines, for the reason that they are still being audited.
He merely said that the fulfilment has exceeded the target like what had been achieved by the fertilizer sector, because of secure gas supplies.
"Right now fertilizer production has reached an oversupply, while the development of the construction sector is in line with the development of government infrastructure projects," he pointed out.
According to the State Enterprises Ministry, the targeted profits of the banking sector in the 2009 RKAP reached Rp13.54 trillion, up from last year's total net profits of Rp10.762 trillion.
The profit of the plantation sector this had been projected at Rp2.9 trillion, while it was only Rp2.5 trillion last year.
Projected profit of the construction sector reached Rp444.8 billion, of the Rp418.19 billion.
The net profit of this year's RKAP in the telecommunications sector had been projected at Rp11.4 trillion, the fertilizer sector Rp1.33 trillion, and the cement sector Rp2.69 trillion.
