Seoul to sell 5.6 tln won in Treasuries in Sept.

SEOUL, Aug. 27 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean government said Thursday that it
plans to sell state bonds worth 5.6 trillion won (US$4.4 billion) in September.
The Ministry of Strategy and Finance said in a statement that it will sell just
over 1.1 trillion won in three-year Treasuries, 2.3 trillion won in five-year
debts and 1.4 trillion won in 10-year government bonds next month. It also plans
to issue 800 billion won worth of 20-year state bonds.
The ministry said that for the eight months of this year, the country has issued
58.3 trillion won in Treasuries, up from the 52.3 trillion won that was
originally planned.
For the whole of 2009, the total amount of state bonds that will be issued is
expected to top 81.6 trillion won.
