Silver falls by Rs 300, gold rules steady
New Delhi, Aug 27 (PTI) Silver prices fell by Rs 300 per
kg in the bullion market here on Thursday on emergence of
selling by stockists following weak global cues, while gold
ruled steady at Rs 15,250 per 10 gram.
Marketmen said selling by stockists, sparked by a
weakening Asian trend, where silver slid 0.6 per cent to 14.25
dollar an ounce, mainly pulled down silver prices.
They said gold remained unchanged in limited deals as
retailers and jewellers refrained from purchasing the metal at
current higher levels.
Silver ready fell by Rs 300 to Rs 23,500 per kg and
weekly-based delivery by Rs 160 to Rs 23,330 per kg.
However, silver coins continued to be asked around
previous level of Rs 30,100 for buying and Rs 30,200 for
selling of 100 pieces.
Standard gold and ornaments held steady at Rs 15,250
and Rs 15,100 per 10 gram, respectively, while sovereign
traded unchanged at Rs 12,550 per piece of eight gram. PTI RS
