Appeal court heads given further jurisdictions
SANA'A, Aug. 29 (Saba)- Minister of
Justice Ghazi al-Aghbari said on Friday that his ministry has given heads of courts
of appeal
wider jurisdictions in the process to supervise affiliate appellate divisions and
courts of first instance so as to achieve a better work process and improve the
level of
performance.
He pointed out that those jurisdictions are included in the regulatory bylaw of the
courts of appeal and courts of first instance which has been issued recently.
The bylaw also granted director generals of courts of appeal a supervision and
inspection mandate on clerical works to apply the administrative and financial laws
and procedures,
he said.
The minister made clear that such an action comes within the reform process in
judiciary with the aim of reinforcing independency of the judicial authority.
