N. Korea to free seized S. Korean fishermen

SEOUL, Aug. 28 (Yonhap) -- North Korea promised Friday to release four South
Korean fishermen who were captured a month ago after their boat strayed into
North Korean waters, Seoul officials said.

"Through a military hotline, North Korea notified the South that the Yeonanho and
its crew will be transfered to our side on the East Sea tomorrow at 5 p.m.," the
Unification Ministry said in an emailed statement.
The squid-fishing boat was hauled into an eastern North Korean port on July 30
after crossing about 11km into North Korean waters due to a faulty navigation
system.
