EGYPT TO SERVE AS SYARIAH ECONOMIC CONSULTANT FOR RI

Jakarta, Aug 29 (ANTARA) - Egypt through the Salih Kamil Center for Islamic Economics (SKCIE), Al-Azhar University, expressed preparedness to serve as syariah financial and economic consultant for cooperative societies and small and medium businesses in Indonesia.

"SKCIE as a study center in Egypt, has expressed readiness to give consultative services," Financing Deputy to the State Minister for Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agus Muharram said in Jakarta Friday.

He said in 2004 he had reached a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SKCIE.

He said that in mid-August 2009 he visited Egypt to follow up on the MoU and extend the cooperation for a year.

"The two sides have agreed to form a small team to describe in more detail the MoU in programs of more operational purposes," he said.

Therefore, he said it would be necessary to make further plans or work agendas of both sides.
