Security bodies pursue 55 Houthis
SANA'A, Aug.29 (Saba) - Security bodies in Yemen
have decided to pursuit 55 elements of the Houthi rebel group in the northern
province of
Sa'ada and other provinces , official sources have confirmed to the ruling party
website almotamar.net.
The decision came few days after arrest warrants issued by the prosecution for 55
rebel leaders for committing flagrant crimes and terrorist acts.
Interior Ministry has directed the security bodies to chase and arrest the wanted
and the other Houthi rebels who participated in fighting against the armed and
security
forces, the official sources have said.
The security bodies' plan included hunting the outlaw elements involved in carrying
out sabotage acts against the public and private properties, raising hatred and
harming
the national unity.
Last week, the Interior Ministry has officially asked the Attorney General to give
orders for arrest warrants for 55 rebel leaders of the Houthi rebellion in Sa'ada
provinces
and other provinces.
Launching an armed rebellion in 2004, the Houthis continue to fight the troops,
kill innocents and attack their properties and commit banditry as well as derailing
development
projects and peace efforts.
Among those sought to be arrested is Badr al-Din Amir al-Din al-Houthi, the
spiritual leader of the Houthi rebels.
Lately the army moved severely against the rebels, in an offensive prompted by
rebel continuous lawbreaking and sabotaging.
Earlier this month, the Yemeni government announced conditions for a ceasefire in
the area but it seem the defiant rebels have not yet accepted the conditions.
