LG to unveil 15-inch AM OLED TV screen at global fair
SEOUL, Aug. 30 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics said Sunday it will unveil its 15-inch
AM OLED screen at one of the world's largest consumer electronics trade fairs in
Germany next month.
AM OLEDs, or active matrix organic light-emitting diodes, are often cited as
next-generation displays that could replace other types of flat panels.
LG Electronics said it plans to market its latest product later this year after
showcasing it at the IFA 2009 set to open Sept. 4 in Berlin.
AM OLEDs, which emit their own light with no need for back lighting, consume less
electricity and are slimmer than liquid crystal displays.
