OMV to increase oil production in Shabwa by end of 2009
SHABWA, Sep. 01 (Saba)- The Austrian OMV company has expected increase of its oil production in (block S2) in Shabwa province at 20,000 barrels daily by end of this year at increase of 2,000 barrels compared to current production.
The OMV operations director Hamdi al-Bahrini told the governor of Shabwa Ali
al-Ahmadi that company was working to increase its production in coming two years
to reach between
30,000 to 60,000 barrels daily.
He added that the company was preparing to drill a first exploration well in a new
site in the governorate.
The governor highlighted achievements of the company and its contributions to
projects of basic services in the region of its activities.
According to almotamar.net, Yemen's oil production from 12 of its oil blocks
reached 107.4 million barrels of oil in 2008.
