Cabinet discusses president proposal to establish National Authority for Refugee Affairs

SANA'A, Sep. 01 (Saba) =96 In its weekly meeting, the =
Cabinet discussed a presidential
order over studying the establishment the National Authority for Refugee =
Affairs.
The meeting approved the project to be turned over to a ministerial =
committee chaired by the ministry of Foreign and membership of the Legal =
Affairs and Finance ministries
as well as representative from the Republic Presidency.
The Cabinet also ratified a grant deal for the rural electricity =
project signed between Yemen and the World Development Foundation in =
July this year. Under the agreement,
the WDF will grant about $ 18 million for Yemen.
The meeting also approved amendment proposed by minister of Public =
Health and Population that calls for adding articles to legislation No. =
26, 2005, over combating tobacco
and dealing with its risks.
Orders were given to finalize all constitutional procedures for the law.
Under the proposed amendment, the authorities will intensify campaigns =
to fight smoking in the public places through issuing legislation =
banning smoking in the public places
and transport, and companies which produce tobacco will be banned from =
importing medications and vaccines either through direct purchase or =
tenders.
