NEXT GOVT NEEDS HOUSE'S SUPPORT TO SUCCEED : PD ADVISER

Jakarta, Sept 3 (ANTARA) - A member of the Democratic Party (PD)'s advisory board, Hayono Isman, said he believed the next government would be successful if the new House of Representives (DPR) optimally supported it.

Therefore, he said "the political elites must not hesitate to support the next government because SBY (president-elect Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) will not prepare a crown prince."
Speaking at a discussion on "Hopes and Challenges for the SBY-Boediono Government" here on Thursday, Hayono said he believed no amendment would be made to the article in the Constitution that limits presidential terms because the restriction was the most important result of the reform movement.

Hayono said he believed the next cabinet structure would not change much so that it could immediately start working. "Therefore it will be named a work cabinet" he said.

A successful candidate for DPR membership, Hayono also said that SBY would strive to make Indonesia an advanced country based on its supreme culture.

Pro-democracy (Prodem) activist Syahganda meanwhile reminded on the occasion that SBY had recently said it would be his last five-year term as president and that he would later work to develop his Democratic Party.

"This shows his consistency with regard to the Indonesian political format," he said.

The format is democracy with political parties as its pillars to promote its sustainability, he said.

SBY won re-election in a presidential race on July 8 beating former president Megawati Soekarnoputri and incumbent vice president Jusuf Kalla.

His Democratic Party meawhile also came out as the winner collecting the most votes in the legislative elections last April beating Megawati's Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP) and Kalla's Golkar Party.

SBY is expected to be inaugurated as president for 2009-2014 in October with Boediono as his vice president.
