Victorian MP Holding returns to work
Victorian Water Minister Tim Holding has been given hugs, kisses and a pocket knife
upon returning to parliament after going missing in the state's alps.
After his two-night ordeal then rescue on Mt Feathertop, about 300km northeast of
Melbourne, Mr Holding was greeted with applause when he returned to lower house
question time on Thursday.
He shook hands with colleagues from both sides of parliament, while Children and
Women's Affairs Minister Maxine Morand gave the adventurer a pocket knife.
Mr Holding received welcome back kisses from several female colleagues, including
Public Transport Minister Lynne Kosky.
He returned to hospital on Wednesday night for more treatment.
"(I'm) a bit sore in a few spots but I'm ready to get back to work now and draw a
line in the sand, so to speak," Mr Holding told reporters outside parliament.
Mr Holding's misadventure started last Saturday when he embarked on a solo ascent of
Mt Feathertop.
It ended when he was plucked from the rocky mountain face by a rescue helicopter on
Tuesday morning.
