S. Korea's auto output falls 4.3 pct in Aug.

SEOUL, Sept. 4 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's production of cars, trucks and buses
fell 4.3 percent last month from the same period last year, hit by weak overseas
demand, manufacturers said Friday.
Output declined to 232,552 units in August, according to data released by the
Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Domestic sales gained 13 percent to 91,467 units, while exports declined 13.7
percent to 141,090 units, the data showed.
In the first eight months of this year, production slipped 19.6 percent to 2.07
million units, it said.
