20 contracts signed to build flood-affected houses in Sayoun

SAYOUN, Sept.05 (Saba)
- About 20 contracts have been signed for reconstructing houses for the people in
Sah district,
whose homes totally affected by heavy rains witnessed by the eastern provinces of
Hadramout and Mahrah in October 2008.
Under these contracts, the construction works would be funded by the Reconstruction
Fund in Hadramout and Mahrah provinces and the houses' owners would conduct the
building
process by themselves in their places under the fund's technical supervision.
Undersecretary of Public Works and Roads Ministry, Executive Director of the fund,
Abdullah Mota'afi made it clear that the fund has handed over the last subsidies of
reconstruction
to 170 flood-affected families in Sah district at a total cost of more than YR 25
million in the amount of 25 percent of the partly damages estimates in the district.
Within few months, the fund would end financing the other totally affected
buildings in Sah district which amount to 288 cases before the end of 2009 as soon
as fulfilling
the technical and legal measures, Mota'afi said.
He called on the district's people and the concerned authorities to cooperate with
the fund so as to complete the reconstruction phase and to overcome the disaster's
economic
aftermaths.
