UNDP, SWF to enhance microfinance labour capabilities

SANA'A, Sep. 08 (Saba) -
United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Social Development Fund (SWF) are to
begin the
implementation of a project to enhance labours capability in microfinance
associations in Yemen.

UNDP Microfinance Project Officer Alin Eskander Hamza said that Yemeni Microfinance
Network has been established to carry out the project that would costs $1.5 mln
financed
by the government and UNDP equally, the state-run 26sep.net reported.
She pointed out that the project intends to enhance labours capabilities in
microfinance fields and to make studies and researches about microfinance market in
Yemen.
It also aims to increase transparency and create database for all workers in
microfinance projects.
