Gov't insists on six points for achieving peace in Saada
SANA'A, Sep. 08
(Saba)-Spokesperson of the Cabinet and Minister of Information confirmed on Tuesday
that rebels did
not comply with a decision of suspending military operation taken by the government
in response to a call by humanitarian organizations in order to insure arrival of
assistance
to displaced people in affected regions due to rebellion.
In weekly press conference, Hassan al-Lawzi said that the political leadership and
government still insisted on implementation of six points to realize peace in
Saada.
No decision over these points, just they should be implemented, al-Lawzi.
The minister said that around 100 rebels have been arrested and they would be sent
to justice soon.
On Friday, the government suspended actually its military operations at 9 pm (1800
GMT) Friday, but al-Houthi rebels have breached the decision, an official source in
the
Supreme Security Committee (SSC)said on Saturday.
The source said terrorist elements of subversion and rebellion violated the
decision, attacking al-Malahydh area of Saada and others in Harf Sufyan of Amran
province.
The SSC presented to the rebels six points to give a chance to achieve peace in the
governorate as follows: 1- Withdraw from all districts of Saada and remove all
check
points hindering citizens movement, 2- Descend from mountains and end banditry and
destruction acts, 3- Hand over all military and civil equipment they overtook, 4-
Clarify
the situation of the foreign kidnapped people as information indicate Al-Houthis
behind their abduction, 5- Hand over kidnappers from Saada, and 6- No intervention
into the
Local Authority affairs in any form.AH
