S. Korea to frontload up to 12 tln won in Q3: finance ministry
SEOUL, Sept. 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korea said Wednesday it will frontload up to 12 trillion won (US$9.8 billion) more from its budget during the third quarter of this year in an effort to help accelerate an economic revival.
The government will inject around 10-12 trillion won more in the July-September
period by tapping its budget earmarked for the final quarter, Vice Finance
Minister Lee Yong-gul told a fiscal-policy meeting.
The move is in line with ongoing efforts to boost the economy, which is showing
signs of a rebound due mainly to active fiscal spending and other stimulus
measures over the past year.
