Hyundai, Kia to hire 3,300 workers in H2
SEOUL, Sept. 9 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp. said Wednesday they have raised their estimate for the number of new employees they plan to hire in the second half of this year to 3,300, up from an earlier plan of 2,500.
Most of the new positions will go to help Hyundai and Kia develop fuel-efficient
"green" cars, the two automakers said in a joint statement.
In July, Hyundai belatedly entered the hybrid car market, launching the Avante
hybrid, powered by liquefied petroleum gas and lithium ion polymer batteries, in
South Korea.
Next year, Hyundai plans to begin selling a gasoline-electric hybrid version of
its Sonata sedan in the United States.
