Yemen, UNDP sign agreement to support flood- affected people in Hadramout and Maharah
SANA'A, Sep. 09 (Saba)- Yemen and UNDP signed on Wednesday an agreement of
rebuilding
affected regions in Hadramout and al Maharah provinces which were hid by flooding in
October of 2008.
Under the agreement, the UNDP would present $ 2 million out of $ 6 million
agreement which would be used to support for flood-affected people, especially
farmers and women
in the two provinces for four years.
The agreement was signed by deputy minister of planning and international
cooperation Hicham Sharaf and UNDP resident representative in Yemen Pratibha Mehta.
Sharaf valued the UNDP contributions to support efforts of Yemen to tackle impacts
of flood disaster taken place in the two provinces last year.
