YEMEN RANKED 99 IN DOING BUSINESS REPORT 2010

SANA'A, Sept.10 (Saba) - Yemen was ranked 99 among 183 world
economies included in Doing Business report for 2010 issued
Wednesday by International Finance Corporation (IFC) and World Bank
on the ease of doing business in 2009.

The report announced that Yemen carried out three reforms during
2008-2009 in fields of starting business within 287 reforms by 20
percent more than the year before.

The reforming countries focused on making it easier to start and
operate a business, strengthening property rights and improving the
efficiency of commercial dispute resolution and bankruptcy
procedures, the reported indicated.

Yemen brought the single window system in the operating phase,
the report said.

The report compares the governmental regulatory measures for doing
business during the period from June 2008 to May 2009.

The international report track the measures related to starting a
business, dealing with construction permits, employing workers,
registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying
taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts , and closing a
business, in terms of applying these measures in the local business
institutions.
