REVENUE FROM ENERGY, MINERAL SECTORS PROJECTED AT RP189.48 TRILLION

Jakarta, Sept 12 (ANTARA) - The energy and mineral resources (ESDM) sectors are expected to contribute Rp189.48 trillion to the state coffers or about 20 percent of the total state income, ESDM Ministry Spokesman Sutisna Prawira said.

"The amount was projected by the government and the Budgetary Committee of the House of Representatives (DPR)," he said here on Saturday.

The projection was formulated in a meeting of a working committee on the basic assumption of income, deficit and financing in the draft state budget for 2010, he said.

He said that the meeting also produced a macro assumption in the 2010 draft state budget for the ESDM sectors. The price of crude was set at US$65 per barrel while the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar was set at Rp10.000 per US dollar.

In the meantime the oil lifting was set at 965 thousand barrels per day. "Besides that, the meeting also projected the amount of energy subsidy in the draft state budget for 2010 at Rp106.53 trillion," he said.

The subsidy consisted of Rp57.36 trillion for fuel oils and biofuels. The subsidy for 3 kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was set at Rp11.36 trillion and electricity subsidy at Rp37.80 trillion.

"Of the energy subsidies, Rp1.60 trillion will be for biofuels and Rp556 per liter for the margin and distribution cost," he said.

He said that the projection of state revenues from the ESDM sectors was made after taking into account US1 billion cost recovery from US$13.006 billion to US$12/006 billion.***
