S. Korea stocks open lower on tech, auto losses

SEOUL, Sept. 14 (Yonhap) - South Korean stocks got off to a weak start Monday,
led by declines in tech and auto stocks, analysts said.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) shed 5.95 points, or 0.36 percent,
to trade at 1,645.75 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
The falls were led by large-cap tech and auto shares as investors pocketed
profits from the sectors' recent powerful rallies.
Financial shares, however, opened higher on expectations resilient economic
activities may boost their profitability.
The local currency was trading at 1,223.3 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15 a.m.,
down 1.5 won from Friday's close.
