Hyundai Heavy wins US$2.6 bln deal to build plant in Kuwait
SEOUL, Sept. 14 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., South Korea's top
shipbuilder, said Monday it has won a $2.6 billion deal to construct a power
plant in Kuwait.
The deal, initiated by the Kuwait government, calls for Hyundai Heavy to
construct a 2,000-MW power plant in Sabiya, about 100km north of Kuwait City,
according to the company. Hyundai Heavy will build the plant in cooperation with
General Electric of the United States by June 2012, it added.
