37 HOUSES INUNDATED BY FLOODS IN AGAM, SUMATRA
Padang, Sept 14 (ANTARA) - A total of 37 houses in Jorong Pasar Durian, Nagari Manggopoh, Lubukbasung subdistrict, Agam regency, West Sumatra, are inundated by floods Monday.
A public leader of Manggopoh, Edi Busti, said the floods attacked at 7.50 p.m because of the overflow of Batang Antokan river.
Edi said the floods also inundated 185 ha of rice field, and 15 corn plantations.
Thirty people had to evacuate to the Dinul Makruf mosque in the area.
Edi also said that in the current fasting month Nagari Lubukpasung had been attacked by floods three time.
"But thank God there was no fatalities," he said.
By 9.50 p.m the flood vistims were still awaiting relief aid from the Agam regency administration.
