POSCO Engineering signs US$350 mln deal in Peru

SEOUL, Sept. 16 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's POSCO Engineering & Construction Co.
said Wednesday that it has signed a US$350 million deal to remodel a thermal power
station in a western region of Peru.

Under the deal with Kallpa Generacion S.A, the Peruvian unit of Israel's Inkia
Energy, POSCO Engineering will convert a thermal power station in Chilca, 62km
south of the capital Lima, into a combined cycle power station with an annual
generating capacity of 830 megawatts, the company said.
The South Korean builder plans to complete construction by 2012.
