Leaders of Korea, Japan and China to hold three-way summit next month

SEOUL, Sept. 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korean President Lee Myung-bak will travel to China next month for a three-way summit with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Japan's new Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, an official at the presidential office Cheong Wa Dae said Thursday.

The meeting will be the first since Hatoyama came into office on Wednesday. The
three-way summit was last held in April on the sidelines of a regional forum of
the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Thailand.
"The leaders will exchange their views on the current security and economic
conditions in the region," the Cheong Wa Dae official said, speaking on condition
of anonymity.
The date and venue have not yet been fixed, but the official said the meeting
will likely be held between Oct. 8 and Oct. 10.
